Welcome to My JKB Schools FAQ's

What is JKB FAQ's? JKB FAQ's is a place you can come to learn about the functionality of the jkbschools.com website.

One thing that FAQ's doesn't explain that's worth mentioning is how JKBSchools.com came about.

My name is Steve Bales and I am the website Administrator for J. Kyle Braid Leadership Foundation. When I first approached the Braids about doing their website, they both made it absolutely clear that one of their main requirements was to provide a window into the JKB-related happenings at their many schools throughout the country. Simply stated, they wanted to provide a way for JKB School Sponsors to input the school-sponsored JKB events so that the general public could become more aware of this great Foundation!

At first, I baulked at the idea - a project of that magnitude would obviously require a lot more manpower than my little home-grown business could muster.

But the story doesn't stop there. In late April, 2005, Colleen braid sent me an email invitation to fly up to the ranch to discuss this lofty effort. At that time, I had set up a blog where we were going to allow sponsors to input their articles. Well, to make a very long story short, and after some 32 hours of gruelingly going over the existing setup with Colleen, it became painstakingly clear that what we had setup was just not going to cut it.

To digress a bit, the hard part of "knowing the Braids" is realizing just how burdened they are for today's young people - and the drive they have to teach these youngsters leadership skills. It's so much more passionate than any other endeavor that I have ever know of or been associated with. It's bigger than life and they (the Braids) pour everything that they have into it.

It's the fervor that the Braids have for America's teens because of their own personal tragedy that motivated me to create this very special website. But the cost is that I had to be willing to help them maintain it and so, aside from Colleen actually reviewing the articles entered, I am responsible for setting up Alumni and Sponsor accounts. It just goes without saying, such an endeavor can not be accomplished by the Braids themselves. Their job is to work with the kids and as Mr. B explained to me, to "create memories".

At any rate, be sure to read the FAQ's - they will give you a good idea of what you can do while you are visiting jkbschools.com and on behalf of the Braids, thank you for your interest and support!
